Childcare Nantwich

Encouraging learning through play

Whilst the Nursery has a clear emphasis on educational learning through play,  most of all we want the children to be happy and have fun as they embark on their learning journeys. We treat each child as unique and centre the learning around the their individual interests and stages of development.

One of the Nursery’s attributes is a strong family ethos, as the name La Maternelle derives from the French meaning ‘A Homely Place’. We care passionately about each child’s future and we will develop positive partnerships with parents & carers.

What Ofsted Say...
Absolutely every detail has been considered at this incredibly well-organised, safe and purposeful nursery.
Ofsted 2022
Ofsted
Children are provided with an ambitious curriculum, securely rooted in the knowledge of how children learn.
Ofsted 20222022
Ofsted 2022
Staff have an excellent understanding of children's interests and individual learning styles and use this knowledge to skilfully engage them in the opportunities on offer.
Ofsted 2022
Ofsted
The management team is highly attuned to the needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Innovative ideas, such as the well-stocked resource library and 'take home bags', allow parents to further support children's learning and development at home. These highly positive relationships and two-way flow of communication secure the children's impressive, ongoing progress.
Ofsted 2022
Ofsted
Staff interact with children extremely well and skilfully introduce new vocabulary. This freedom of expression and creativity helps children to grow in confidence and make rapid progress in their learning and development. Staff use superb questioning techniques to challenge children's thinking. Risk assessments are thorough, and staff are vigilant when checking that the environment is a clean and safe space for children to play.
Ofsted 2022
Ofsted
Parents speak very highly about the nursery and comment on being 'blown away by the welcome they had'. Parents of children with SEND say they are 'overwhelmed by the support they received' during the referral process and beyond.
Ofsted 2022
Ofsted
Children of all ages are enabled to develop their independence and extend their 'have-a-go' attitude to learning. Children's faces show high levels of intense concentration as they carefully carry their plates to the table. As a result, children become capable, confident individuals who are fully prepared to move on to the next stages of their development.

“Abbie has developed fantastically attending La Maternelle - she is very independent. She has been able to express herself in a caring environment”
Parent2022
Parent
“I particularly like the high standard to which you know about every child and how you cater for individual needs”
Parent2022
Parent
“I like the continuity of care – the same people looking after my child with no great turnover of staff. The staff smile & take an interest in my child and the whole atmosphere is of staff that care.”
Parent2022
Parent
“The environment is child focused with plenty of everyday items for the children to explore rather than being an environment designed to be visually appealing to adults- some of the other nurseries we looked at had clearly missed the point and it was one of the things as parents we liked about La Maternelle”
